How do I set up a CardDAV account on the iPhone?
On the iPhone, open Settings > Contacts > Accounts > Add account > Other > Add CardDAV account and enter your sync.blue® credentials. Your contacts appear in the address book right away.
Which contact fields are synced via CardDAV?
Among others: name, company, department, position, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, birthday, photo and notes. The complete overview is in the field list on this page and in the help center.
Can I distribute the CardDAV credentials to all iPhones via MDM?
Yes. Create a configuration profile with a CardDAV payload and your sync.blue® credentials in your MDM and assign it to the devices. This works with Microsoft Intune, Jamf and every MDM that distributes Apple configuration profiles.
How often does the iPhone sync the contacts?
sync.blue® updates the CardDAV server at your chosen interval — from hourly to monthly. The iPhone picks up changes automatically through the CardDAV account.
Do I need an app on the iPhone?
No. iOS supports CardDAV natively and the contacts land directly in the built-in address book. Nothing is installed on the iPhone.
